           A native of Brandon, Florida, Dana felt God’s call into Ordained Ministry when he was in Junior High School. A member of the Brandon, First UMC he learned ministry in the UMYF, in the Youth Choir, on the Administrative Board as Youth President and at the heart of great pastors like Dr. Ray Harrison, Dr. Bob Chapman and others.
 
          Dana attended Florida Southern College where he majored in Religious Education. While at Southern he served as president of the Wesley Foundation and Inter-Faith Council. Graduating in 1981 with the BA in Religious Education he entered Candler School of Theology and completed his degree there in 1984. While at Candler Dana served the Salem UMC in Covington, GA which became his home church.
 
          Dana has served the following appointments: Aldersgate, Augusta – Associate; Elberton – Associate; Moreland – Pastor; Faith - Cartersville; Bright Star - Douglasville; Zoar – Snellville and most recently McDonough First.
 
          Dana is married to the former Sally McGill of South Carolina and they are the parents of three children: Matthew who lives in Athens, GA; Jacob who is a student at Georgia Perimeter and Katie who is a freshman at Lakeside High School.
 
          With the 50 churches and 178 clergy Dana is excited to bring a sense of Unity, Celebration and Sharing as together we make disciples of Jesus for the transformation of the world. Dana desires to serve the clergy and the laity, the big churches and the small churches and pray through how to be Vital Congregations that meet the mission of the United Methodist Church.
